Cards for Smiles Project
During my quarantine, I started an independent volunteering initiative called the "Cards for Smiles Project." I committed more than 80 hours to create 400+ carecards and encouragement letters for three different humanitarian organizations, kids with cancer, hospice patients, seniors with Alzheimer's, and people with disabilities. I made the most of my time to cheer people up in the community with small acts of kindness during the pandemic.
Houston Ballet and Festival Ballet Theatre
I shared my passion for the arts and performed in more than 55 free outreach performances for the community, including children who are economically disadvantaged. I engaged with young children at meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, and dance demonstrations --- where I helped spread love and appreciation for the art of dance.
Hearts & Minds Activity Center
I didn't let the pandemic stop my community service, so I volunteered for this nonprofit organization in Santa Clara County that enriches the lives of seniors with Alzheimer's/dementia on a weekly basis. I would host bingo games for them over Zoom and even taught them ballet.
